It is developed by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios and published by Eidos Interactive, and is the first game in the Just Cause series. From October 2018, five weeks before the Just Cause 4 release, Just Cause was made Backwards Compatible with Xbox One, as a result making it available for the first time on the Xbox Marketplace, 12 years since its initial release.
