Making the Ultimate Lathe Carriage Stop | Shop Made Tools

This is a must watch video if you are contemplating making a Carriage Stop for your lathe. This is the full build of a MICROMETER CARRIAGE STOP for the metal lathe. The TOOLMASTER comes with a factory made 4-position length stop but I don't use is so I want to upgrade to a new one. My Colchester has factory 5-position turret stops for both the longitudinal and cross feeds but my Toolmaster doesn't- so I built one with a micrometer to 0.1mm resolution. There's a lot of action on the Colchester with the both 3 and 4 Jaw Chucks; a Collet Chuck and the Centering Tool comes into play. There's a lot of milling with both End Mills and Face Mills getting some use. There is a segment on ENGRAVING that includes the Divider. We will test the Colchester and the Toolmaster with their respective carriage stops and test the new micrometer.
