The Q4’s classic debut album “Sound Surroundings” is a masterpiece of sample-based soundscapes, original drum breaks, and cinematic instrumentals. The record was composed note-by-note using countless little soundbites from analog sound carriers like vinyl records and music cassettes. After years of tinkering away, a televised performance on De Wereld Draait Door landed their single “One Of These Days” at the top of the Dutch iTunes charts and the album became an overnight success.
