My name is Eefke and I am the 23 year old Dutch Youth Representative on Sustainable Development to the United Nations. This means I am the voice, the eyes and the ears of young people in the Netherlands and speak out on a national and international level about solutions for climate change. Besides this, I am also a Future Forecaster who looks at current movements in society to predict where the future will take us. I see myself as an activist, environmentalist and bookaholic. Activist because I do not stand by or be quiet when something happens, like the refugee crisis. That is why I worked in refugee camps several times in the last years. An environmentalist because I care for the planet and our environment and do everything in my power to protect it. A bookaholic because I have always loved reading ever since I started as a child. - This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
