KING 810 - We Gotta Help Ourselves (Audio)

KING have partnered with local Flint outlet, Savage Village to help support the Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s ‘Flint Child Health & Development Fund.’ Go to http://savagevillage.bigcartel.com/pr... to purchase a “We Gotta Help Ourselves” T-shirt. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. Donating to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund is the single-most important action you can take to ensure long-term change for the better in response to the Flint water crisis, as they recognize that significant change, namely ensuring the health of their Flint families, requires foresight and long-term planning. The needs of Flint children exposed to lead, particularly those most vulnerable- children ages 0–6 years old – are ongoing and long-term. When a donation is made to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund, that gift will be used for critical interventions today and well into the future. The Fund, established at the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, is a supplemental resource to the ongoing pursuit of state and federal funding. Grants will be advised by a committee of community members with representation from residents, Hurley Children’s Hospital, Mott Children’s Health Center, Greater Flint Health Coalition, United Way of Genesee County, and the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. A gift today to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund will be used to aid children with interventions that support positive health outcomes for Flint children, including: Crisis response Optimal child health & development Early childhood education -Educational and Student Support Services Continuous access to a pediatric medical home Access to infant and child behavioral health services Nutrition education Healthy food access Safe & healthy home environments Integrated social services Research For more information on the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and the ‘Flint Child Health & Development Fund’ go to www.flintkids.org.
