Here is my quick take on the Reno Court of Inquiry. The RCOI was the only military investigation into the Battle of the Little Bighorn, and it examined the behavior of second in command, Major Marcus Reno. The RCOI was held at the Palmer House Hotel, in Chicago, in 1879, and caused quite a media stir at the time. (Viewers, it might help if you have a little background knowlegde of the Little BIghorn fight before watching.) ... PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT A HISTORIAN! AND THIS IS MY FIRST POWER POINT PRESENTATION EVER!!! This is a completely amateur endeavor so please forgive any mistakes (and I know I made loads of them!). Also please understand that the actual RCOI transcript is NEARLY 700 PAGES-- so I had to do my best to compress an awful lot into a small amount of time, and therefore could not discuss everything or everyone I would have liked. ... I am currently working on a novel about the Reno Court of Inquiry/ The Battle of the Little Bighorn. I've been researching and writing this for a few years now, and along the way have met many outstanding people and visited many outstanding places (Little Bighorn Battlefield, Montana; Monroe, Michigan, birthplace and home of Libbie Custer, and also where she met and married Custer; East Cavalry Field, Gettysburg, one of Custer's best known fights of the Civil War; Fort Lincoln, Bismarck, North Dakota, which was Custer and Libbie's final frontier post as well as the departure point for Custer and the 7th Cavalry when they set out for their last fight against the Sioux and Cheyenne). ...
