"I have always so admired Data & Society's approach: it’s about rights, it’s about a Bill of Rights, it’s about human rights, and that is absolutely fundamental... But I want to put another lever of change, another set of lenses on the table, which is the lens of our political economy. Because…the political economy into which a big new technology is born or socialized or, frighteningly, commercialized...really shapes what happens to the technology. And by political economy, I mean the common sense for who gets to own stuff, who gets to govern stuff, who gets to decide on those things? And our political economies, obviously, shift.
