There are many obstacles in the path to success. How can one still manage to succeed, eventually? What is the magic ingredient to a bright future? Valerie Mocker shares her fight against discrimination at work and what helped her to deal with ALL problems at work. Valerie Mocker’s mission is enabling more people to shape the future. She is an entrepreneur, tech-for-good investor and international speaker. Valerie enables organisations and people to shape the future by helping them use the digital transformation as a force for good. Her funds support new innovations and technologies that tackle pressing issues such as crumbling trust in democracy, unequal education opportunities, climate change or our ageing population. Valerie has worked in Germany, Spain, Peru and the UK, is part of the "40 under 40” leaders list by Capital and holds two degrees (both first class) from the University of Oxford. Valerie wants to make the rooms of power more diverse and open them up to more people - especially younger generations and women, who have too little control over how we fund and shape the future. In her talk "How you own the future", Valerie talks about her experiences being the youngest Director at one of Europe's leading innovation funds. She shares the key tips for getting into the rooms of power, which might surprise many: you need generosity, kindness and the power of Wingwomen and Wingmen.
