Step 1: Unpacking Your Unit The GTS2000 and lift cart will arrive on separate pallets. Make sure they’re delivered on a flat surface next to a curb, allowing for safe and stable transfer off the pallet. What you’ll need to unpack your compactor: • Tin Snips • Box Cutter • Drill with Phillips Bit • Protective Eyewear Put on protective eyewear before cutting the binding snaps around the GTS2000. Use the drill to remove the wood blocks holding the unit and lift cart in place. Inspect the unit for damage. Unlock the locking casters and roll the unit off the pallet. Two people are recommended for rolling the unit and lift cart off the pallet. Step 2: Installing Your GTS2000 Indoor Commercial Trash Compactor The GTS2000 compactor has a footprint of 36” in width and 78” in height. You need at least 60” of clearance for waste bin loading and unloading. The GTS2000 requires a 110V 20 Amp dedicated line with a 20 Amp receptacle outlet plug. Release the lower door latch and open the lower door. Remove the manual, PVC pipe and box, which contains two 50 count rolls of waste bin liners for future use. Using the PVC pipe, install one roll of liners in the cradle located behind the upper door. The phone number to reorder bags is on the inside of the upper door. Step 3: Setting Up Your GTS2000 Compactor Familiarize yourself with the keypad, known as the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The up and down arrow buttons will move the compactor plate up or down as long as the button is held down or until the travel limit is reached. The “compact key” is button 1. Press and release it to launch an automatic compaction cycle. The compactor plate will move down, then pause for 5 seconds, and then return to the top. The “clean key” is button 3. Press and release it to launch the clean cycle. The compactor plate will travel halfway down and then prompt the operator to begin cleaning. Clean the unit daily to maintain the warranty. After cleaning the plate and closing the door, the compactor plate will automatically return to its ready position. Enter the numeric PLC code 1194 and press enter. Your GTS2000 Indoor Commercial Trash Compactor is now ready for use. Step 4: Operating Your GTS2000 Indoor Trash Compactor Pull the latch to open the load door. Place one to three bags of trash inside the unit. Press button 1 to start the compaction cycle. Repeat until the waste bin is full. The PLC display will tell you when the waste bin is full by reading “Trash Full Empty Bin.” Step 5: Emptying Your GTS2000 Indoor Trash Compactor Ensure the front two locking casters are locked. Release the lower side door latch on the bottom right-hand side of the compactor. Pull outwardly on the handle to unlock. Position the lift cart channels to align with the bottom right and left sides of the waste tray. Rotate the hand crank to lift the waste bin from the compactor until the bin locks into place on the cart. Wheel the waste bin out of the GTS2000. Tie the waste bin liner shut. Remove the waste bin sleeve from the waste bin. Roll the cart to the dumpster. Raise the waste bin above the opening of the dumpster. Push the cart under the dumpster and pull the dump lever to dump the trash into the dumpster. Put the hard-plastic waste sleeve back onto the waste tray, place a new waste liner into the waste bin, and roll the cart back into the compactor. Lower the waste tray, pull the dump lever to disengage the arms from the waste bin, and remove the cart. Close the door and lock the side latch. You are now ready to begin a new compaction cycle.
