It's quite remarkable how quickly the brain works; there are so many nuances of feeling that occur during a fleeting second, it is difficult to describe them all. As I look back on my own life, certain moments stand out, more important than the others. I remember every sense being heightened and every detail seeming clearer and more distinct. In comparison, suddenly every other moment of the day seems bleak and distant, almost like looking at someone else's life. During these vivid moments, our stream of consciousness seems to take on a life of its own. In an instant, these thoughts lead us to exciting places and when the moment is finally over we are not quite the same.
