In this digital era, many journals still exist in print version. To reduce delays of publications, scholarly publishers usually make the articles available before final publication via early view, in press, ahead of print, or online first. This session will present initials findings related to the following research questions: How do the major academic publishers deal with reporting publication dates & status? How do scholarly databases deal with changes in publication date and status by publishers? What is the effect of differences in publication dates/status on bibliometric analysis (e.g. SciVal)? What are the options in Pure regarding publication dates & status? How do the different Dutch Pure users deal with the variation in publications dates and status?
