UK set to be hit by thunderstorms as weather warnings issued

Yellow weather warnings have been issued for large parts of the UK. The Met Office says thunderstorms and heavy rains will hit regions including Greater Manchester, the rest of the North West, East Midlands, London & South East England, South West England, Wales, the West Midlands, and Yorkshire and Humber on Sunday (May 12). The alert warns that the storms could lead to some disruption in places, especially to travel and isolated property flooding is possible. The warning comes as temperatures this weekend are set to high the mid 20s across the UK. According to the Met Office forecast temperatures in Manchester will reach 23c on Friday afternoon.
