The cold “ate” each of the participants and my record had some centimeters, or maybe meters. The fight promised to be sharp - after all, almost all the strongest gathered. First of all, I expected long throws from Yuri Sedykh and Igor Nikulin. I knew that Igor is now capable of throwing 82-83 meters, and it has long been known about the ability of a two-time Olympic champion to gather for a decisive throw. By the way, I try to learn this skill from him. But Yuri was unlucky that day, throws did not go from him. What is the reason, I do not know - I have not seen Yuri for a long time, I do not know how he prepared. In my opinion, he himself did not expect the throws to go away. After the first throw, I realized that the result, despite the bad weather, will be. In the second attempt, everything turned out perfectly: both the turns, and the release of the projectile, and in the circle remained. The result was excellent - a new world record. Four years ago, a similar situation was repeated in the same sector. Then I also became the first. True, the result was worse - 77.08. Then again, Yuri Sedykh was fourth. This is real “spartakiad” bad luck. But the luck is Olympic. I would not mind exchanging these "luck" with Yuri. Just kidding, of course. We need to fight for the Olympic medal, and I intend to get involved in this fight in a year. Although I didn’t specially prepare for the Spartakiad (I considered participation in it as a stage of preparation for the World Championships), but I am very pleased that she brought me the world record and the title of two-time champion.”
