There's my usual Feb 29th Upload and this time, it's a journey across the Aravalli Hills on board the metre gauge train from Mavli to Marwar. #trains #indianrailways #thetrainguy Train : 09696 Mavli Jn - Marwar Jn MG Passenger Loco : Mavli (ex-Phulera) YDM4 #6733 One of the last remaining meter gauge sections in Indian Railways and the last operational MG section in Rajasthan. Once a brimming MG network has now been reduced to 160 kms of a single line over the Aravalli Hills, due to operational and transhipment constraints. Currently, there is just one train each way, and they cross at Phulad, where they undergo a reversal each. The train crosses the Aravalli Hills between Kambli Ghat & Phulad stations, with the summit a little before Goram Ghat station. A journey behind a YDM4 is always nostalgic as the chugging and honking is slightly different from a BG ALCo. The older short-welded rails mean that the tracks sounds are an absolute ecstasy. #rajasthan #marwari #trainjourney
