Passbolt is a free and open-source password manager that allows you to securely store and share passwords with your team or organization. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to self-host Passbolt on a Linux server using Docker. Docker is a powerful containerization technology that allows you to run applications in isolated environments, making them easy to install, update, and manage. To follow along with this tutorial, you'll need a Linux server with Docker installed. We'll be using Ubuntu 20.04, but you can adapt the steps to your distribution of choice. Documentation: Docker compose wget https://download.passbolt.com/ce/dock... Docker Guide: https://help.passbolt.com/hosting/ins... Here are the steps we'll cover in this tutorial: Install Docker and Docker Compose on your server. Create a new directory for your Passbolt installation and download the necessary files from the official Passbolt repository on GitHub. Create a new database container using Docker Compose and configure it with a secure password. Configure the Passbolt container with the database credentials and other settings, such as the domain name and email configuration. Start the Passbolt and database containers using Docker Compose. Configure your DNS and firewall settings to allow access to your Passbolt installation from the internet. Create your first user account and start using Passbolt to store and share passwords securely. By the end of this tutorial, you'll have a fully functional Passbolt installation running on your own server, with all the benefits of self-hosting, such as full control over your data, enhanced security, and scalability.
