Jaime states he promised to fight for the living and he intends to keep that promise. Brienne of Tarth stands and steps forward on Jaime's behalf. Sansa eventually agrees that they should let Jaime stay. Without seeking approval for this from Dany first, Dany looks at Jon and asks his advice on the matter. Jon says they need every man they can get. Dany eventually acquiesces, and Tyrion gives an audible sigh of relief.
