This video compliments Polymatter's video on Trader Joe's (linked below), with the purpose of looking at the four main ways Trader Joe's addresses its environmental impact. Through food waste, packaging, sourcing, and energy, Trader Joe's creates a mixed bag of environmental actions and impacts. It has thoroughly addressed its food waste problem and is beginning to minimize its packaging impact. But it's hard to tell where its products come from and they don't have any public emissions reduction plans. At the end of the day, Trader Joe's is not the most ethical or sustainable company. It listens to what its costumers want and does it. That's what makes it so popular as well.
