Various of people registering and voting STORYLINE: An 18-year-old school student was one of the voters casting a ballot for the first time in Russia's presidential election, which is all but certain to extend President Vladimir Putin’s rule. Vitaly Golubev, a senior high school student from Dzerzhinsk, turned 18 last month and decided to cast his vote in-person at one of the local polling stations. "My parents have always been voting this way," Golubev said before casting his ballot. "I decided to keep up this tradition," he added. He said voting at the election is important because it will determine the way country will develop.
