Moushumi Chatterjee gained popularity with her debut film "Anuradha" (1967), but it was her role in the film "Piya Ka Ghar" (1972) that brought her widespread recognition. She went on to work in numerous films throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" (1974), "Chhoti Si Baat" (1975), "Angoor" (1982), and "Swami Dada" (1982). Known for her charming on-screen presence and impressive acting skills, Moushumi Chatterjee worked alongside some of the most prominent actors of her time, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, and Dharmendra. Throughout her career, Moushumi Chatterjee received numerous awards and nominations for her performances. She won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" (1974). In addition to her work in films, Moushumi Chatterjee has also been involved in politics. She was a member of the Indian National Congress party and contested the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. Moushumi Chatterjee is married to Jayant Mukherjee, and the couple has two daughters, Megha and Payal. Payal has followed in her mother's footsteps and is also an actress.
