H&M is opening a new location in Time Square and in celebration threw a "secret" party. Well a day prior it became heavily hinted that it would be none other than Charli XCX, who has been having a phenomenal year after having released 'brat". I happened to be heading down to Manhattan for a movie anyways and decided to make a pit stop. I must have gotten there around 5:30PM and found a decent spot and hunkered down. She wouldn't go on until 6:30PM so it wasn't too much of a wait. It was pretty packed and I can only imagine how much worse it is during the ball drop on New Years Eve (with the cold!). This is as much of Time Square waiting as you'll ever see me do. Charli played 5 songs and bounced. Overall it she was really far away but the screens made up for it and the energy was fun. In a way I feel relieved that I didn't attend the Sweat tour in MSG but I feel like it's not really about the vocal performance at a Charli show, but just dancing. It overall feels like karaoke than a real concert. But being free, I'm glad to have seen Charli live in 2024.
