Tolkien AUDIO interviews are also rare and scattered everywhere. This compilation collects 3 short fragments from his interviews 1964 and 1968. These are the lesser known materials. This upload concludes the last of all his AUDIO interview materials that there is (publicly available, as of 2023-03). (now let's wait until BBC releases some more 'lost' stuff at random...) SUBTITLES ON - accuracy 95% Highlights: life after WW1 remembering his mother his lectures Elvish lesson 00:00 Part 1 (2 minutes) 1964 BBC Irene Slade; was not a successful session, only few minutes of audio survived. This file can be found on Tolkien Estate website. 01:58 Part 2 (4m16s CleanCut) 1968 video interview BBC 2016 Release ("Lost Recording") 06:14 Part 3 (3m36s CleanCut) - RARE 1968 video interview BBC 2001 Release ("Tolkien Audio Portrait" CD) talks a great deal about his mother ---------- Credit / Source: Tolkien Estate, BBC "Tolkien in Oxford: A Reconstruction" PDF file by Stuart Lee (transcript) ---------- for fan collection purposes; copyright belongs to their owners this video is non-monetized. I did not set google ads on it Compiled by TalkingAboutTolkien ============== MAKING of this compilation This is another 10/10 difficulty project (thus CleanCut). Full length of BBC 2016 Release is 1 hour of annoying production, consists of gibberish and talking of random people. They even voiced over the original recording and ruined some bits. Eventually there's only 4 minutes of new JRRT audio. "Tolkien Audio Portrait" (2 hours) is also heavily mixed and remixed, using all his interview materials (video and audio). There's also a ton of other people talking. After cutting all the junk, there's only 4 minutes of unique JRRT. Subtitles and their timing are also adjusted for better viewing.
