한국의 산세를 담은 주차빌딩 디자인의 새로운 패러다임 인천국제공항 T2 장기주차빌딩 프로젝트는 미래 항공수요 증가에 대응하기 위한 인천국제공항 4단계 건설사업의 일환으로, 제2여객터미널 확장과 제4활주로 건설과 더불어 증가하는 주차 수요에 대응하고자 추진되었다. 제2여객터미널에서 약 3.8km 떨어진 위치에 자리한 T2장기주차빌딩은 총 6,448대의 차량을 수용할 수 있는 초대형 규모이며, 친환경 전용주차 342대, 장애인 전용 197대, VAN 차량 50대를 포함하고 있다. 또한 지붕에는 신재생에너지설비인 태양광발전설비시스템을 설치해 친환경 주차빌딩으로 계획하였다. 인천국제공항 T2 장기주차빌딩의 외관 디자인은 전통 산수화에 담긴 '한국의 산세'를 모티브로 설계되었다. 주요 마감재로는 주차빌딩의 차양과 환기 기능을 동시에 고려한 특수 제작 알루미늄 루버와 유공 패널을 사용하여 입체적인 파형 곡선 형상을 구현하였다. 또한 한국 전통 산수화 기법을 현대적으로 재해석하여, 농담(濃淡)과 음영(陰影)의 변화를 통해 한 폭의 수묵화가 연상되도록 색채계획을 하였다. 인천국제공항의 주차빌딩은 단순한 주차의 기능을 넘어, 여객들에게 한국적인 이미지를 각인시키는 공간적 기억장치로서의 역할을 수행할 수 있다. 이에 따라 인천국제공항 T2 장기주차빌딩은 전통과 현대적 기술이 어우러진 독창적인 디자인을 통해, 한국의 이미지를 세계에 알리는 상징적 건축물로 자리매김할 것이며, 또한 세계 유수의 공항과 어깨를 나란히 하는 인천국제공항의 확장성과 지속 가능한 교통인프라 구축을 위한 핵심 시설로, 미래 공항 운영의 중심적 역할을 담당하게 될 것이다 New Paradigm of Parking Building Embracing the Korean Mountain Landscape The construction project for the T2 Long-Term Parking Building at Incheon International Airport is part of the airport's phase 4 expansion plan, which aims to address the future increase in air traffic demand. This project, along with the expansion of Terminal 2 and the construction of the 4th runway, was initiated to meet the growing need for parking facilities. Located approximately 3.8 km from Terminal 2, the T2 Long-Term Parking Building can accommodate a total of 6,448 vehicles, making it the largest single long-term parking building in Asia at the time of its design. The building includes parking spaces for 56 electric vehicles and 50 vans, and features solar power generation facilities on its roof, making it an eco-friendly parking building. The exterior design of the T2 Long-Term Parking Building is inspired by the 'Korean mountain landscape' depicted in traditional Korean paintings. The main exterior materials were aluminum louvers in a three-dimensional wave curve shape, considering both shading and ventilation functions. The color scheme was designed to evoke the feel of an ink wash painting, using parameters of light and shadow to reinterpret the techniques of traditional Korean landscape painting in a modern way. Beyond its primary function as a parking facility, the T2 Parking Building at Incheon International Airport serves as a spatial memory device that imprints a Korean image on passengers. Through the integration of traditional and modern technologies, the T2 Long-Term Parking Building has demonstrated its innovative design, which will make building a symbolic structure that promotes Korea's image to the world. Furthermore, it will play a central role in the expansion of Incheon International Airport, which has been ranked first in the world airport service evaluation for 12 consecutive years, and in the establishment of sustainable transportation infrastructure, ensuring its pivotal role in future airport operations.
